Bell's Armagh earned only four league wins this season |
Irish League First Division club Armagh City have sacked manager Tony Bell.
Armagh have had a disappointing league season and have no chance of playing Premier Division football next season even though four clubs will gain automatic promotion.
In addition, Armagh are out of contention for the fifth spot position which will earn a promotion and relegation play-off against the bottom outfit in the Premiership.
Armagh City's management committee took the decision to dismiss Bell on Monday evening.
"The Management Committee have been extremely disappointed with results to date this season and felt that the situation could not be allowed to continue," said a club statement.
The team collected only two points in the Ulster Cup campaign and have only recorded two home league wins during the season and four in total.
A caretaker manager will be appointed to take charge of team affairs in time for Saturday's game at Bangor.
The club plan to advertise for a successor and hope to make an appointment as quickly as possible after having spoken to interested parties.
