Coleraine maintain superb form
Marty Quinn's side came from behind to beat Distillery
Marty Quinn's side are six points behind Portadown

Coleraine extended their unbeaten run to 20 games by coming from behind to defeat Lisburn Distillery 2-1 in Tuesday's Daily Mirror Irish League game at Ballycastle Road.

The victory moved Marty Quinn's side to within six points of second placed Portadown and the Bannsiders also have a game in hand.

A misjudged backheader by Coleraine defender Gerry Flynn in the 41st minute enabled Mark Holland to put Distillery ahead with a right foot lob over Davy O'Hare.

Jody Tolan equalised for Coleraine in the 68th minute by heading a Stephen Beatty corner to the net.

Another Beatty corner caused confusion in the Distillery defence in the 74th minute and substitute Michael McHugh's downward headed ended up in the net.

Coleraine were reduced to 10 men in the 77th minute with Paul Gaston sent off after picking up his second booking but the Bannsiders held on to take the three points.

At Omagh, Colm McCullagh headed an Andy Crawford cross to the net in the 36th minute to put the home side ahead against Glenavon.

Jamie Hughes added a second for Omagh a minute later with his first goal for the club.

Omagh should have extended their lead in the 70th minute but Eamon Kavanagh's penalty was saved by Glenavon goalkeeper Paul Rice.

In Tuesday's other Premier Division game, Ards and Cliftonville played out a dismal scoreless draw at Taylor's Avenue.

Gary Haylocks headed over for Ards in the 18th minute while Cliftonville's Keith Mulvenna had a header brilliantly saved by Ards goalkeeper Stephen Robertson early in the second half.

In the First Division, Ballymena moved to within a point of leaders Dungannon by comfortably defeating Ballyclare 3-0 at the Showgrounds.

John O'Loughlin put Ballymena ahead against with an 18th minute goal while two late Shay Campbell goals put the seal on the home success.
