Tim McCann scored Glentoran's golden goal winner |
Shield semi-final hero Tim McCann believes Glentoran can achieve a clean sweep of trophies in Northern Ireland football.
McCann came on as substitute to score the golden goal which decided Monday night's TFG Sports County Antrim Shield game against Linfield.
The Glens now play Ballymena United in the final on Tuesday 4 March.
But McCann does not think Ballymena - or any team for that matter - can stop Glentoran's charge towards all four available trophies.
"The way the team is playing at the minute I do not think anybody could beat us," said Glentoran's Windsor Park matchwinner.
"There is a real self-belief in the dressing room that we can go on and clean up and win all four trophies."
Glentoran aleady have this season's CIS League Cup in the Oval trophy cabinet.
Now they are in the Shield final, play Ards in the quarter-finals of the Nationwide Irish Cup and are currently a massive 12 points clear in the Premier Division.
'Best squad'
"I cannot complain about being on the bench because the team has been winning and playing so well.
"But hopefully this goal will have helped me stake a claim for a first team place."
Skipper Chris Walker was also glowing in his praise of the current Glens side.
"This is my ninth season now and this is the best team I have played in - by a long shot.," said Walker.
"Even the title-winning team of four years ago. We had a great side then but this is definitely a better squad.
