Ulster football dates announced
Armagh forward John McEntee in action in the All-Ireland Final
Armagh's John McEntee will be in action on 11 May
All-Ireland Champions Armagh will open up the defence of their Ulster title against Monaghan at Clones on 11 May.

The dates for all next year's Bank of Ireland Ulster Championship games have been announced.

Down, now managed by Paddy O'Rourke, will play the winners of the Armagh v Monaghan preliminary round tie on 8 June.

If Armagh come through the Monaghan game, they will play Down at Clones.

Should Monaghan have shocked the All-Ireland Champions, then the Ulster quarter-final would take place either at Newry or Casement Park.

Tyrone's mouthwatering Ulster first round game against Derry will either be staged at Omagh or a neutral venue on 18 May.

Joyce is furious at the treatment meted out to his club
Padraic Joyce: Could quit Galway

The Ulster Council will fix the game for Healy Park providing ground improvements come up to scratch.

Antrim's opener against Cavan will take place at Casement on 25 May while Fermanagh's clash with Donegal has been scheduled for Brewster Park on 1 June.

Meanwhile, new Antrim manager PJ O'Hare has said that he will hold clear-the-air discussions with players who are unhappy with the way he was appointed.

Fourteen players met in a Belfast hotel last weekend and drafted a letter which asked the Antrim county committee not to ratify O'Hare's appointment.

However, Monday's county committee meeting refused to consider the contents of the letter because it had not been signed by the players.

Corkery plays on

Meanwhile, Galway football star Padraic Joyce is said to be considering his future with the county.

Joyce is understood to be furious at the way his club Killererin were thrown out of this year's Galway Championship.

Killererin refused to play extra-time in a Galway Championship game against An Cheathru Rua and despite a series of appeals, were not granted a replay.

Meanwhile, Cork star Colin Corkery has said that he will play intercounty football for at least another season.

The Cork star was said to be considering his future after his sending-off in the All-Ireland Semi-Final hammering by Kerry.
