Tyrone poised to name new boss
Eugene McKenna and Art McRory
Eugene McKenna and Art McRory were joint managers
The identity of the next Tyrone senior football manager will be revealed on Thursday, according to county board chairman Liam Nelis.

A five-man selection committee will interview candidates on Tuesday night and make their recommendation to the county board.

The board is then expected to ratify the committee's decision on Thursday.

The top three contenders for the job are former joint-manager Eugene McKenna, Mickey Harte and All-Ireland club winning manager Brian McIver.

County minor boss Liam Donnelly and Derryman Peter Doherty are the other hopefuls.

Lane deposed

Meanwhile, Antrim will not name the successor to Brian White as their senior football manager until the end of this month.

The final decision will rest with the county committee, which is expected to meet within the next fortnight

Meanwhile, Noel Lane has lost his job as manager of the Galway county hurling team and has been replaced by his former team-mate Conor Hayes, who has been given a two-year term.

Hayes captained Galway to the All-Ireland titles in 1987 and '88 - the last occasions the county lifted the Liam McCarthy Cup.

Meanwhile, former All Star John Considine is expected to be named as the new Cork Hurling manager.
