Gordon Crockard picks up 11 points in Italy
Gordon Crockard finished in 10th place in the 250cc Italian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Co Down rider did well to finish in the points after a collision on the first of a 20-lap race that was won by champion Mickael Pichon.

Crockard, who had qualified in seventh place tangled with Colin Dugmore and Joshua Coppins at the slow hairpin curve in the opening lap and all three fell off.

Coppins was the quickest to rejoin the race but was still down in 13th on the first lap, he then started a remarkable come-back charge.

Pichon triumphed for the fourth time this season but had a slightly tougher time after being put under pressure from Coppins.

Pit Beirer was third, while Crockard was able to pick up 11 points for his efforts.
