Ward played major role as Poole booked a place in the final |
Poole booked their place in the Elite League Grand Final with a 53-41 win over reigning champions Wolverhampton. The Pirates made a great start with Chris Holder and Darcy Ward combining for three 5-1s and Bjarne Pedersen winning his first four rides. Wolves fought back late on with Freddie Lindgren winning three of the last five races and Adam Skornicki impressing. Poole's Pedersen said: "It was a team effort as it has been all season. Now we need to focus on Coventry." Wolves now turn their attentions to the Knockout Cup. Monmore Green rider Lindgren said: "I must pay credit to Poole, they should go on and win the title because they've been the best team all season."
