Swindon's defeat by Coventry is their second home loss of the season |
Swindon Speedway suffered their second home defeat of the season losing 42-48 to Coventry at the Abbey Stadium. Robins' captain Leigh Adams again led by example, top-scoring with a paid 13-point haul. But Morten Risager scored just two points and Mads Korneliussen only managed a paid 4-point return. Swindon team manager Ronnie Russell told BBC Wiltshire: "It's just not good enough. This disappointment, I can't actually start to put into words." Simon Stead was named Swindon man of the match thanks to his paid 12-point contribution. Cory Gathercole scored a paid 7-point total for Swindon from the reserve berth but Justin Sedgmen scored just one point after struggling to recover from a heavy fall in his opening ride. Grzegorz Zengota picked up 8-points. Coventry's visit to the Abbey Stadium saw the return of former Robins' rider, promoter and manager Alun Rossiter, who left Swindon at the end of last season to become team manager at the Bees.
