Witches announce double signing

Scott Nicholls returned to the Witches in the summer

Ipswich Witches have confirmed Danny King and Scott Nicholls will be riding for the Elite League club in 2010.

King was voted rider of the year in 2009 while Nicholls rejoined his hometown club in July.

Witches team manager Pete Simmons said: "Scott will be an out and out number one for us, capable of double figure scores home and away.

"Danny made great strides last year and his career will really take off now he's settled at Foxhall."

Nicholls says he felt at home back at Ipswich after originally electing not to ride for an Elite League team in 2009.

He said: "Ipswich was top of the list for me as far as 2010 was concerned.

"After spending so much time on the road the last couple of years I'm really looking forward to concentrating on and enjoying riding for the Witches, I can't wait to get going."

King was Ipswich skipper last season and says he had no hesitation in returning to Foxhall.

"Last season was so enjoyable," he said.

"The atmosphere in the pits was terrific and it was a real privilege to be team captain, I never had a thought in my mind about going to any other club in 2010."
