Piotr Swiderski signs for Witches for 2009

The Ipswich Witches have begun to put their team together for the 2009 Elite League season.

Piotr Swiderski will be returning to Foxhall, as will Ipswich asset Danny King who has spent the last two years at Peterborough.

In addition to Swiderski and King, the club are talking to Polish riders Jarek Hampel and Robert Miskoviak.

They also hope that Chris Schramm will double up, having signed for Premier League Kings Lynn.

"We would have been chastised for not going after Piotr," Witches rider-manager Chris Louis told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"We were given permission by Peterborough to talk to him and we agreed a deal, which is fantastic news."

On King, Louis said: "Danny wanted to get back to a smaller track.

"He has matured a lot in the two years at Peterborough and we are very pleased to have him back. The deal was concluded very quickly."
