King's Lynn will have a four-point lead when they take on Birmingham Brummies in Wednesday night's Premier League play-off semi final second leg.

The Stars have home advantage, but they are without injured skipper Tomas Topinka and team manager Rob Lyon is taking nothing for granted.

"Getting to this stage of the season anything can happen," he said, "so to have a four-point cushion is great.

"But we don't want to take our foot off the gas. We must win the meeting."

The way Lyon has re-worked his side means Topinka's rides will be covered under the rider replacement rule.

"We can bring somebody in for Kozza Smith and we've done that with Chris Kerr who we feel can do a solid job for us.

"It gives us the option of using the rest of the boys as rider replacement for Tomas. We're pretty hopeful that'll be ok for us."

The Brummies will start as massive underdogs in Norfolk after last Wednesday night's 47-43 home defeat.But manager Graham Drury insists that all is not lost.

"I understand what a tough task we have on our hands," he said. "But we will give it our best and see what we can achieve. It would be nice to achieve a shock result."

Corey Gathercole, who rode for Swindon in their Elite League play-off final defeat by Wolves on Monday, will be hoping to avoid an unwanted play-off double.

He comes in to replace the unavailable Tomasz Piszcz, who is suspended by the Polish federation, and will be desperate not to be on the losing side for the second time in three nights.

The winners will play Edinburgh, semi-final conquerors of Newcastle, in the final.
