King's Lynn Stars have the upper hand in their Premier League play-off semi-final after winning 47-43 in the first leg at Birmingham. World Under-21 champion Darcy Ward led the way for the Stars with his second 15-point maximum in two days. The Stars trailed by six points after six heats but Chris Schramm and Emiliano Sanchez helped them take the lead after the 10th heat. The return leg is at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday, 14 October. King's Lynn could face Edinburgh or Newcastle in the final.
