Scott Nicholls was involved in a fight with Emil Sajfutdinov

Scott Nicholls' season took a turn for the worse during the British Grand Prix at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

The Coventry Bees rider came to blows with Russia's Emil Sajfutdinov at the end of Heat 5, after he took exception to the last bend tactics of Nicholls.

The Coventry rider, who has struggled for form this season, missed his first two rides in Thursday night's defeat at Swindon after being stuck in traffic.

But he had some consolation at Cardiff as the night's only British winner.

He won Heat 15 on Saturday night, making him the only British rider to win a heat.

Jason Crump won the event and now leads the World Championship by 31 points.
