Crump saddened by Oxford demise

Speedway

Speedway's world championship leader Jason Crump says he'd love to see the sport to return to Oxford.

No potential promoter has been able to reach a rent agreement with the owners of the Oxford Stadium, the Greyhound Racing Association in two years.

"Oxford was always one of the better stadiums to race in, " said Crump.

"It's a shame the speedway is no longer there, but you never know your luck in Oxford. Maybe one day it can get back in there one day."

Crump, a former Oxford Cheetahs rider, is back in the UK for tomorrow's British Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
