Supporters of Oxford Cheetahs have vowed to continue their fight to save the sport in the county after a recent fans forum in Kidlington.

Local politicians were present to take questions from supporters about the city council's backing for a campaign for the club to return.

Chris Brown from the Save Oxford Speedway group said: "It gives us a fighting chance."

"The council remain 100% behind the drive to keep speedway."

Brown and his fellow supporters are relying on the help of local politicians to try and keep the sport alive in Oxford after rent negotiations with the Greyhound Racing Association collapsed leading to the closure of the club.
