The Oxford Cheetahs will return to action in a challenge meeting against Wimbledon on 11 August.

The news of the fixture, at Reading's Smallmead stadium was revealed by South Coast businessman Nick Andrews at a fans forum in Kidlington.

Andrews told BBC Oxford: "I know there is a good fanbase there.

"I think that if the supporters are given a good quality of racing and if we give them value for money they will come flooding back."

Andrews has named a side made up largely of riders who represented the Cheetahs in the Conference, including his son Marc.

The club have been out of action since it's closure under former promoter Allen Trump, who failed to reach a rent agreement with the landlords at the Oxford Stadium.

Oxford Cheetahs: Jamie Courtney, Kyle Hughes, John Branney, Marc Andrews, Brendan Johnson, Mate Bates, Andrew Bargh, Matt Davies, Ben Hopwood.
