Pavlic missed the win over Coventry |
Swindon are looking for a replacement for Jurica Pavlic after he failed to turn up for their win over Coventry. Pavlic has been handed a 28-day ban from British speedway. "He was booked on a flight from Sweden to London. I got a call to tell me he hadn't checked in," Robins co-promoter Gary Patchett told BBC Wiltshire. "He'd flown from Sweden to Croatia. I told him what I thought in no uncertain terms. There's obviously a lot going on in his mind at the moment." Patchett who believes the rider has taken on too many commitments elsewhere. "He doesn't need to ride to earn a living. He needs to be enjoying riding otherwise he doesn't have a motivation. "I'd be lying to you if I said that this was the first time we'd had a problem this season." Swindon continued their unbeaten home league run with a 54-39 victory over Coventry to stay second in the table. Leigh Adams led the way with 14 and a bonus and Matej Zagar weighed in with 13 and a bonus. The victory was Swindon's fourth over the Bees and Patchett said his side came strong in the second half of the meeting. "We pulled away from heat five. It was a meeting I thought we were always going to win."
