Alun Rossiter's Robins lost their unbeaten home record to Lakeside
Swindon Robins will have to make up a two-point deficit in the second leg of their Knockout Cup semi-final against Lakeside in order to reach the final.
A 46-44 defeat on Thursday was Swindon's first at Blunsdon in 2009, despite 15 points from Leigh Adams.
Swindon manager Alun Rossiter told BBC Wiltshire: "I've got no excuses, that's just the way it goes, there's no point moaning about it."
The second leg of the semi-final takes place at Lakeside on Friday evening.
Swindon skipper Adams will be unavailable to ride on Friday because he is taking part in the Danish Grand Prix.
Cory Gathercole, Ryan Fisher and Richard Sweetman will also be missing for the Robins, but Matej Zagar will be back in time to compete after missing the first leg against Lakeside.
The Slovenian had been booked to ride in Poland on Thursday and was unable to pull out of the event in order to ride for Swindon.
Rossiter has said it will be hard for his team to go through to the final because of the difficult nature of the Lakeside circuit.
"It'll be a dust bowl, so we've got to pull our socks up and make sure we're set up," said Rossiter. "Hopefully we can pull one out of the bag."
