Stead helped the Robins move to the top of the fledgling Elite League table |
Swindon secured their first three-point win of the new Elite League season with a 49-41 victory over Eastbourne. New league rules give teams the extra point if they win by seven or more, a scoreline the Robins only secured in the last race. Simon Stead scored nine points and told BBC Radio Swindon: "We've shown good team spirit and that we're capable of beating anybody. "We maybe suffered a bit without Ryan Fisher, but we got the three points." Leigh Adams top scored for Swindon with a paid 15 points, while Troy Batchelor picked up the man of the match award for his 13. Simon Gustafsson was the star performer for Eastbourne with his paid 12 from reserve.
