Richardson had a good night at the East of England Showground |
Lakeside Hammers picked up their first Elite League points of the year with a 50-43 win at the Peterborough Panthers. The Hammers led the home side from the opening heat of the meeting and picked up eight wins from the 15 races. Lee Richardson top scored for Hammers with 11 points, whilst Kenneth Bjerre and Mads Korneliussen both scored 12 for the Panthers. Joonas Kylmakorpi suffered a small fracture to his elbow in a heat 14 crash and could be out for a fortnight. The Hammers' victory also created history as they became the first team in the Elite League to score four points for a win, thanks to new scoring rules for which reward teams who win by seven points or more away from home. Those points moved the Essex side level with Swindon Robins at the top of the Elite League table.
