Workington Comets rider Adam Roynon has targeted a return to action after attending the Premier Trophy win against Newcastle on Saturday. Roynon, 20, broke a bone in his neck and had a blood clot on the brain after crashing last month and is now geared up towards his comeback. "I recovered quite quickly and I'm hoping to get on a bike as soon as possible," he told BBC Radio Cumbria. "My family have been supportive, it was a freak accident." Meanwhile on the track the Jack Young Shield holders were back into winning ways in the 51-42 victory at Derwent Park. And captain Kevin Doolan was pleased with his team-mates response in their first outing of the new campaign. "It was a good performance tonight and we were a bit rusty coming into the game," he said. "Newcastle had three matches before tonight so it was really good for us to show our strength."
