Mildenhall Fen Tigers have announced that John Adams is the new team manager at West Row. The 47-year-old, who has been in charge of Stoke Potters for the past two seasons, was chosen ahead of seven other applicants. Blayne Scroggins has been named as the club's new assistant team manager. Meanwhile, Mildenhall have confirmed that they have signed up 15-year-olds Oliver Rayson and Joe Jacobs to ride at reserve in 2009. Adams told BBC Suffolk he wants a new start at the club after a disastrous 2008 when the Fen Tigers failed to register a league win.
He said: "Last year is last year, that's gone now - it's a closed chapter as far as I'm concerned. "Every speedway club goes through it in different periods and Mildenhall unfortunately went through theirs last season." Adams added: "This is a brand new chapter in their history and obviously we want to expunge all last year's thoughts and doubts and move on."
