Mildenhall Fen Tigers are close to agreeing a deal to continue under new ownership, BBC Suffolk understands. Terms have been agreed between a three-man consortium and current promoter Buster Chapman. A spokesman for the consortium, who did not want to be named, said talks are continuing over rent with West Row stadium owner Dave Coventry. It is believed the new owners plan to enter a team in the National League for the forthcoming season. The future of the Fen Tigers has been unclear since King's Lynn promoter Chapman decided to put them up for sale in December following the worst season in their history in 2008. Providing the new consortium can complete a deal, they are confident of announcing a line-up for 2009 quickly. The spokesman said terms have already been agreed with two riders and discussions have been held with a further six. A formal announcement is expected by the end of the week.
