Swindon speedway legend Bob Kilby has died at the age of 64. Kilby, who also represented Exeter and Oxford, was a key figure the last time Swindon won the league title in 1967. He was renowned for his gating ability and formed a formidable partnership with Barry Briggs, Martin Ashby and Mike Broadbank that season. Having ridden 2,226 times for Swindon in three spells, winning 4,192 points and 68 maximums, Kilby retired in 1980 with a back injury.
