Redcar Bears have signed Australian rider Arlo Bugeja up to their 2009 Premier League squad.

Bugeja, 22, will join up with the Bears following the Australian Championships but owner Brian Havelock made no promises on his place in the line-up.

"Arlo should benefit from re-visiting tracks that were new to him and he knows he must perform to justify his selection," he said.

The season begins on 26 March with a challenge match at home to Newcastle.

The full Bears squad comprises of Gary Havelock [captain], Ty Proctor, Carl Stonehewer, Ben Wilson, Robbie Kessler, Benji Compton and Bugeja.
