Peterborough Panthers have failed in their appeal against Jesper B Monberg's amended average for 2009. The 31-year-old Dane is set to become the Panthers' third summer signing, but only if he joins on a 4.51 average instead of 6.49. Panthers promoter Mick Bratley told the club website: "It's disappointing, but we remain 100% committed to our rider. "We will take this absolutely as far as we possibly can to get the correct adjudication," he added. Monberg was originally handed a 4.51 average, but that was amended by the British Speedway Promoters' Association following a mix-up over the number of home and away meets in which he competed last season. Panthers will now take their case to the Speedway Control Bureau.
