Nick Andrews, the south coast businessman trying to revive the Oxford Cheetahs, remains optimistic about a return to Sandy Lane.

Speculation has been growing that the club could return to Cowley after disagreements between the landlords and previous promoters over rent.

Andrews told BBC Oxford: "I'm not yet in a position to make an announcement, but I am aware of what is going on.

"Hopefully within a month to six weeks their will be some news."

Andrews has been arranging challenge meetings outside Oxfordshire for a young Cheetahs side, which includes his son Marc.

When asked how confident he was that a return to Sandy Lane was possible, Andrews replied guardedly: "Very."
