The Devils failed to make the most of the weekend's matches |
Plymouth Devils lost two of their three matches in the Conference League over the weekend to put their hopes of taking the title in doubt. Despite still being top of the table Plymouth have one match left while the second-placed Boston Barracudas are a point behind with three matches to go. The Devils got off to a good start, beating Weymouth 51-42 at St Boniface Arena on Friday night. But they lost 48-44 at Buxton on Sunday and 51-39 at Scunthorpe on Monday. They now have to win their final match of the season against Buxton at St Boniface to secure a play-off spot. If they win that game they must hope that Boston do not win more than one of their remaining fixtures and Weymouth do not win more than two of their five remaining matches if they are to top the table.
