Panthers arrivals overhaul team

Speedway rider

Peterborough Panthers have strengthened their team by bringing in three new riders in an effort to turn around a disappointing season so far.

Australian Ryan Sullivan returns for his fourth spell at the club and will ride at number one to replace Hans Andersen, who left last week.

Sullivan is joined by Polish rider Karol Zabik, who was at the club for a short time in 2006.

Lukas Dryml has also returned and will replace Morten Risager at number two.

Panthers team manager Trevor Swales insisted Dryml was very eager to return to the East of England Showground.

He said: "I rang him up to ask if he was interested, he jumped at the chance and couldn't get back quick enough."

And Swales expects the new arrivals to impress their fans who have been unhappy at a poor season that sees Panthers second from bottom of the Elite League.

"I think there are going to be a few people who are going to be quite happy, especially as we have brought Ryan Sullivan and Lukas back," Swales told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

He added: "The ultimate goal is to finish higher up the table which is what the fans are looking for as well as us.

"We just hope we've got the ingredients right to do that now."
