Davidsson helped the Hammers reach third in the Elite League |
Jonas Davidsson has become Lakeside Hammers' fifth full-time rider for the speedway season. The 23-year-old Swede has been an ever-present for the Hammers this season and says he is delighted with the news. "I really want to do well in England and the club have been fantastic in making me feel welcome," he enthused. "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining this team on a full transfer, it's clear to me we have the potential to go all the way." "We are still in all three major British competitions and with riders like Andreas Jonsson and Adam Shields I feel we can deliver for the fans this year." Hammers team manager Jon Cook was also pleased with the acquisition of Davidsson from the Swindon Robins. "If you saw his two performances at Peterborough and then the following night at the Arena Essex Raceway [in the Knock-Out Cup], it is obvious he is super-quick and a fantastic asset," he said.
