Peterborough Panthers team manager Trevor Swales has revealed that Kenneth Bjerre will not be available for Wednesday's trip to Poole.
Bjerre took part in a qualifier for the World Championships at the weekend, barely a week after breaking his left leg while riding in Denmark.
"I think he was pushing things [to ride] 10 days after breaking his leg," Swales told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"We need a 100% fit Kenneth Bjerre back and not a 50% fit Kenneth Bjerre back."
Panthers slipped to yet another away defeat in Elite League at Eastbourne on Sunday night, but Swales insists he will not be rushing Bjerre back for the trip to Poole.
"If we feel he comes back too early and he won't be scoring big points then that's something else we have to address," he said.
"We have to dictate the terms and not Kenneth... our biggest priority is to get the team scoring as many points as possible."
Swales is awaiting clarification from the British Speedway Promoters Association as to whether he can bring in temporary cover for the young Dane.
"We're looking to introduce someone for maybe 28 days to give Kenneth a while to get over this when he can just do his world championships rounds and the Danish GP," he said.
"We've obviously got a few names that we could call on, but it's not easy."
