Dane Korneliussen started riding for Swindon Robins in 2005

Swindon picked up a straightforward 53-40 win over Arena-Essex in the Elite League at Abbey Stadium on Thursday.

Mads Korneliussen and Troy Batchelor were Swindon's top scorers with paid 14 from five rides, while Korneliussen picked up the man-of-the-match award.

"It was a perfect night, I was just a bit disappointed that I couldn't get my maximum," said the 25-year-old Dane.

"I've only had one maximum in my British career, in the Premier League, so that would have been nice."

Investing in new equipment has paid dividends for Korneliussen.

"I've bought a brand new engine and it's working really well," he said. "I've got confidence in the bike, so it makes it a lot easier when you only have yourself to work with."
