Peterborough Panthers boss Trevor Swales put Tuesday night's 48-42 win over Eastbourne down to an improvement throughout the whole team. Panthers lost their Elite League opener to Eastbourne 59-35, but they turned the tables at the East of England. Swales told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I was pleased with the way they all went as they've all improved." But he warned: "We still have a few problems with machine problems for Sam Simota and Danny King." There was heaving rain shortly before the meeting and Swales felt that lessened Panthers' home advantage. "When you get rain like that early on it does make the track totally different," he said. Swales believes home advantage was diminished further due to other changes to their home track. | Belle Vue are not one of the more fancied teams in the league so a convincing win is what we should be looking for Peterborough team manager Trevor Swales |
He said: "We took the decision this year not to make the track look as scary as it had other years and although it hasn't back-fired on us it has taken a while for the guys who were here last year to get their set-up right." Panthers are next in action against Belle Vue on Thursday 17 April and Swales has targeted another win. "Belle Vue are not one of the more fancied teams in the league," he said. "So a convincing win is what we should be looking for. "If we can get a convincing win it will be a confidence boost for all the lads, especially the ones who have been struggling early on."
