Lyons' leg injury leaves the Brummies facing an anxious wait (Getty) |
Birmingham Brummies could be without two more riders after Sunday's 42-32 Premier Trophy win at Mildenhall. After losing Kyle Legault for the season, the Brummies are now awaiting news on Jason Lyons and Phil Morris. Club captain Lyons was taken to hospital after damaging a leg during the victory at West Row. Welshman Morris followed him later with a rib injury suffered in a multiple pile-up in heat 13, as the meeting was abandoned due to lack of medical cover. Both riders are doubts for Wednesday's opening Premier League fixture against the Scunthorpe Scorpions at Perry Barr, which starts at 1945 BST. Despite their early exits, Lyons and Morris were joint top-scorers for the Brummies with nine points, matched by Lee Smart. Adam Roynon and Jack Hargreaves added six apiece.
