Redcar Cubs have completed their new-look line up for the 2008 Conference season after nominating 21-year-old Gary Beaton as captain. Beaton had Premier League experience with Glasgow Tigers before signing up with the formerly-known Cleveland Bays.
Australian Scott James, 23, will be a newcomer to the squad who brings Conference League experience.
James is likely to ride at number one, with skipper Beaton and the rising star Greg Blair as his support.

Returning from injury is last season's 'most improved rider' David Wallinger who will form a very promising reserve pairing with Stokesley-based Guy Kendrew.
Also in the mix is another locally-born rider Martin Emerson who has also made appearances for the Redcar Bears Premier League team alongside 19-year-old New Zealander Jade Mudgway.
