The 20-year-old trails rider was only introduced to speedway in 2006 but soon developed an interest in the sport.

The Stokesley-born rider, who spent last year with Stoke Spitfires, hopes to continue his progress on Teesside.

"I wanted to get into racing and had thoughts about motocross," he said. "But I got hooked when I saw speedway and wanted to concentrate on that."
