Lowes raced with a broken collarbone sustained in the last round at Assen |
Lincoln's Sam Lowes took fifth place in round four of the World Supersport Championship at Monza in Italy. The 20-year-old, riding with a broken collarbone sustained in the previous round at Assen, had qualified second for Parkalgar Honda despite his injury. He said: "It was a hard race with my injured shoulder. I really wanted to finish and rode safely within myself." Lowes is now seventh overall with race winner Chaz Davies and his Yamaha team-mate Luca Scassa joint series leaders.
