Smith claims second in title race

Smith has claimed two grand prix wins this season

Oxfordshire's Bradley Smith has secured second place in the 125cc World Championship after a another podium finish at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The 18-year-old was second behind world champion and race winner Julian Simon in another hard fought race between the Aspar Aprillia team-mates.

"Just like Australia I did the best I could, I raced as hard as I could," Smith said.

"Second place in the championship is great for me and great for our team."

The result in Sepang ensures Smith will finish as runner-up in the championship ahead of rival Nico Terol.

Smith took part in the race despite fracturing a bone in his right foot during qualifying.
