Camier and Ellison win at Cadwell

Leon Camier
Camier's victory in race one was his 15th of the season

Airwaves Yamaha riders Leon Camier and James Ellison claimed race wins in Monday's ninth round of the British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park.

In race one Camier passed Stuart Easton on lap four and went on to win by more than seven seconds with Ellison third.

Camier crossed the line first in race two with smoke coming from his engine.

But the series leader was disqualified for ignoring warning flags, handing Ellison the win and promoting Easton and Simon Andrews to second and third.

The HM Plant Honda team struggled on their home circuit, with Karl Muggeridge finishing seventh and 13th while John McGuinness was 12th in race one before retiring from the second race.

Louth's Peter Hickman was 14th and 11th on the Ultimate Racing Yamaha to earn a brace of third places in the Superbike Cup.

In Supersport Woodhall Spa's Steve Plater was second for HM Plant Honda but saw his championship lead cut to just two points as his closest title rival Billy McConnell took victory.

Ben Wilson from Boston saw his title hopes take a blow when he was forced to retire after losing his chain at the top of the Mountain on the opening lap.

Lincoln's Sam Lowes extended his Supersport Cup lead with his best result of the season, sixth on the Co-Ordit Honda, with Lee Jackson from Lincoln 11th for Astro Honda.
