Camier claims Cadwell Park pole

British Superbike Championship leader Leon Camier qualified in pole position for Monday's ninth round of the series at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

The Kent-born Airwaves Yamaha rider's lap of one minute 27.397 seconds was 0.6sec faster than Kawasaki riders John Laverty and Simon Andrews.

HM Plant Honda's John McGuinness and Karl Muggeridge start 11th and 13th at the Louth-based team's local circuit.

Lincolnshire's Peter Hickman qualified 14th on the Ultimate Racing Yamaha.

In Supersport, series leader Steve Plater from Woodhall Spa qualified in seventh for HM Plant Honda, with his closest challenger Billy McConnell taking pole position.

Boston's Ben Wilson, who is only 20 points behind Plater in the standings, will start third on the Gearlink Kawasaki with Sam Lowes from Lincoln ninth in his first race for the Co-Ordit Honda team, while Lincoln's Lee Jackson starts from 12th for Astro Honda.
