Rossi currently leads Casey Stoner by 11 points in the MotoGP standings

Italian MotoGP star Valentino Rossi is to attend the Isle of Man TT Races to complete a lap of the course with TT legend Giacomo Agostini.

The Italian duo will ride a lap of the mountain course before the Dainese Superbike TT Race.

"I'm fascinated by all motor sport and the Isle of Man is a destination and a race I have wanted to experience for a long time," said Rossi.

The pair will ride behind the course car on 2009 Yamaha R1s.

Eight-time MotoGP world champion Rossi added: "The MotoGP schedule is very busy around this time of year, but the TT has moved dates a little and there is a week gap between Mugello and Catalunya, so now at last we have the opportunity to see this famous event."

Agostini won 10 TT titles on the famous Mountain Course between 1966 and 1972 which then held world championship status.
