North West 200 format is altered
Robert Dunlop
Robert Dunlop is likely to race in the 125cc event
The format for next year's North West 200 has been changed with a separate 250cc race starting an eight-race programme on Saturday 17 May.

The 125cc/400cc races will again run concurrently but will be treated as two separate races with separate prize funds and presentations for both.

The Superbike races will continue to be run under FIM World Superbike specification as in recent years.

The British Superbike rules for 2008 will require standard engine parts.

Following consultation with teams and competitors, it was decided that the North West would not follow suit.

A further change will allow 650 twin cylinder machines to take part in the 400cc race.
