Crash dents Toseland's title push
James Toseland
Toseland will have one eye on Haga's results this weekend
James Toseland jeopardised his title ambitions by crashing during superpole for Sunday's penultimate round of the World Superbike Championship in Italy.

The Honda rider, who holds a 41-point lead over Japan's Nori Haga, had been on the pace during qualifying.

But his lapse meant that Troy Bayliss was quickest ahead of fellow Australian Troy Corser and Spaniard Ruben Xaus.

Toseland lines up with Haga, Lorenzo Lanzi and Michel Fabrizio on the second row of the grid.

The 26-year-old Brit, who won the title in 2004, needs to better Japanese rider Noriyuki Haga's results by nine points on Sunday to secure victory.
