Japanese rider dies from injuries

Seamus Greene was involved in an accident with Jun Maeda
Japanese rider Jun Maeda has died from injuries sustained in a crash during Monday night's practice for the Isle of Man TT.

Maeda was injured on the Ballahutchin Straight and he was later flown to Manchester for specialist treatment.

The 38-year-old, who first came to the TT in 1997, was in a crash involving Irish rider Seamus Greene who remains in a critical condition.

The Donegal rider is in Walton Neurological Centre on Merseyside.

US sidecar passenger James Cornell also remains in a critical condition.

Cornell suffered multiple injuries after crashing at May Hill in practice last Saturday.

Robbie Silvester, Keith Stewart and Dave Molyneux, who were also involved in accidents in practice, are all described as comfortable.
