Ryuichi Kiyonari clipped a third of a second off the Snetterton lap record in free practice for Sunday's Bennetts British Superbike Championship races. HM Plant Honda team-mate Michael Rutter had set the pace but Kiyonari's late lap broke his mark from last year.
Airwaves Ducati's Leon Haslam fell off but recovered to set the third best time, but team-mate Gregorio Lavilla was back in tenth place.
Virgin Mobile Samsung Yamaha's Tommy Hill was fourth quickest.
