McGuinness may ride Honda at Prix
John McGuinness could line up for the Stobart Honda team at this year's Ulster Grand Prix at Dundrod.

The multiple Isle of Man TT winner has parted company with the AIM Yamaha team who supplied him with machinery for the main road races and British Superbikes.

McGuinness tested a Superbike with the Paul-Bird managed team last week and afterwards said he "loved the bike".

A spokesman for the top British team said that the team's appearance at the race was "a definite possibility".

"John and Paul have a long history together and I'm sure it will be talked about.

"He tested the bike last week and loved it and he will definitely be riding it at Macau. The Ulster Grand Prix is also a possibility," he said.

The Stobart Honda team have enjoyed a change of fortune in recent weeks with Michael Laverty producing a number of promising displays in the British Superbikes series.

Leslie Moore, race organiser of the Dundrod races, told the BBC that McGuinness had "three teams offering him bikes for the race".

"John will be racing at the Ulster alright. If he decides to ride for one team in particular, it will have a very big impact on the meeting."
