Jeremy McWilliams ready to return to racing in the province |
Jeremy McWilliams could be back racing in the province for the first time for over a decade as part of an impressive line-up for the Sunflower Trophy. The 41-year-old Grand Prix star could be a stumbling block for three-times winner Michael Laverty around the Bishopscourt circuit on 14/15 October.
Laverty and McWilliams will be riding for the Eddie Stobart Honda team at the climax of the short circuit season.
It is hoped that some of top British Championship riders will be in the mix.
John McWilliams, who won two races at the Ulster GP last weekend, has also signed up and will join the usual list of locals on the start grid.
There will be a new Sunflower Trophy up for grabs this season, the second time that a new piece of silverware has had to be made in the 28 years of the event.
Laverty took it home last year after his third win in succession while in the early Nineties, Scotland's Brian Morrison achieved the same feat.
There will be 11 races on the programme. The first winner was the late Joey Dunlop back in 1977.
