Jeremy McWilliams will not be racing at Silverstone |
Jeremy McWilliams will again be absent from the grid for this weekend's ninth round of the British Superbike Championship at Silverstone. The Glengormley rider is still recovering from a shoulder injury and is keen to get medical clearance and do some testing before making his return.
He may take part in the next round at Cadwell Park on 27-29 August.
"I am looking forward to giving it a go again as I'm feeling pretty good. Being on the sidelines has been frustrating."
"I have to do some more testing and get passed fit by my own doctor and the track doctor. Then hopefully the team will be ready to get me on the track," said McWilliams.
The Stobart Honda rider last raced at Mondello Park in May but was not 100 per cent fit.
Meanwhile Ballyclare teenager Jonathan Rea will be fit to race after recovering from injuries sustained in the last round at Snetterton.
Despite a slight swelling to the left chest, Rea attended recent test sessions at Cadwell Park and Silverstone.
"I'm satisfied with the way the season has gone so far but I'm certain that I can improve," said Rea.
