Darran Lindsay was pleased with seventh place on Monday |
Darran Lindsay overcame a persistent wrist injury to finish seventh in Monday's Supersport Junior TT race in the Isle of Man. Lindsay, competing in his first TT since 2000, hurt his right wrist at the North Monaghan road races last year.
"I am over the moon with that - after the first lap I was down in 12th or 13th place," he said.
"I have been going to the hyperbaric chamber all week in an attempt to get my wrist stronger."
Lindsay's first TT outing, the superbike race on Sunday, ended with a crash at Cruickshanks although he escaped unscathed.
"I hit a false neutral, went too deep into the corner and bumped into the big air bags at about 20mph," he added.
"My bike is not too badly damaged - just my pride really.
"I have had only five laps on a superbike here and I am still learning where the bumps are.
"They seem to be in different places when you are on a superbike."
The recent North-West winner is now looking forward to the supersport race on Wednesday.
"This race should be close as the supersport is a very tight class," he said.
"It is difficult for met to get good signals as I have a low start number - maybe they will move me up the order.
"Me and the team have been having a good time but it is a very long fortnight away from the family."
