Fauzy set the 22nd fastest time in his previous test in Malaysia |
After having his Silverstone practice run cut short Lotus reserve Fairuz Fauzy has been told he will feature in Germany this weekend. Mechanical problems put paid to the Malaysian, 27, getting a full stint on the Friday at the British Grand Prix. Therefore the Norfolk-based team have told the former Formula Renault driver his scheduled practice outing at Hungary has been brought forward. He is likely to put Jarno Trulli's car through its paces at Hockenheim. Lotus team principal Tony Fernandes told the team's website: "Being able to tell Fairuz he has another Friday run a week before he thought he'd be back in the car is a great way to start the week. "We all know he'll deliver for us, both on the track and in the feedback he'll provide the team. "He's an inspiration to drivers around the world." Fauzy joined Lotus in December after the team announced its return to Formula One.
